Work type: onsite
Location: New York, New York, United States; San Francisco, California, United States; Seattle, Washington, United States
Salary: $212,000 – $265,000/yr
Type: Full-time
This role is designed for a seasoned product leader with at least 7 years of experience managing complex, high-volume transaction platforms. The ideal candidate has a deep background in **Fintech, Healthtech, or B2B marketplaces**, specifically focusing on backend systems like billing, claims, or payment disbursements. Since this is a "Staff" level position, they are looking for someone who can drive high-level technical architecture while remaining obsessed with the end-user experience. The compensation is highly competitive ($212k–$265k) and includes meaningful equity in a well-funded Series D company. While the role is **on-site** in NYC, SF, or Seattle, the benefits package is standout: it includes 16 weeks of parental leave, a "Holiday Break" week in December, therapy reimbursement, and a dedicated work-from-home stipend. This is a rare opportunity to tackle a massive infrastructure problem that directly improves access to mental healthcare. **You might be a good fit if you:** * Have scaled complex backend workflows where automation and exception handling are critical. * Are comfortable "talking shop" with engineers regarding data pipelines and predictive modeling. * Enjoy building internal tools that help operations teams manage denials and financial leakage. * Want to own a core revenue-driving platform at a mission-driven scale-up.
Headway’s mission is a big one – to build a new mental health care system everyone can access. We’ve built technology that helps people find great therapists with the first software-enabled national network of providers accepting insurance.
1 in 4 people in the US have a treatable mental health condition, but the majority of providers don’t accept insurance, making therapy too expensive for most people. Headway is building a new mental healthcare system that everyone can access by making it easy for therapists to accept insurance and scale their practice.
Headway was founded in 2019. Since then, we’ve grown into a diverse, national network of over 60,000 mental healthcare providers across all 50 states who run their practice on our software and have served over 1 million patients. We’re a Series D company with over $325m in funding from a16z (Andreessen Horowitz), Accel, GV (formerly Google Ventures), Spark Capital, Thrive Capital, Forerunner Ventures and Health Care Service Corporation.
