This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Red Bank, NJ, Morristown, NJ. Hartford, CT, Danbury, CT. NYC, NY) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Supports Underwriting in the sales acquisition process. Serves as the point of contact for agents in handling inquiries and requests. Communicates with customers to request needed information and resolves problems. Provides support for Financial Lines new business and renewal policy account coordination, review, essential services, rating, prepare work orders for quoting and issuance of middle market business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for supporting the Underwriter in the sales acquisition process through a variety of services that may include account coordination, new business and renewal policy essential services, report ordering, preliminary classification of new business, and data collection. Examine correspondence and applications to determine if changes are needed and make the necessary changes for quoting or underwriting review.
- Responsible for reviewing, preparing work orders for rating and issuing policies. Applies screening criteria in accordance with guidelines. Communicates with customers to obtain needed and required underwriting information and resolves problems. Supports sales efforts and strategies.
- Effectively balance quality, and timeliness while working alongside the Underwriter to manage a book of business.
- Multi-task, prioritize and manage daily work activities.
- Maintains an effective pending/diary/follow-up system.

QUALIFICATIONS:- Prior Commercial Market Insurance industry experience as an Account Manager, Technical Rater (or similar) servicing accounts at either an insurance carrier or agency required
- Knowledge of Financial Lines products- D&O, Fiduciary, Crime, EPL a plus
- Commercial Rating experience
- Strong Customer Service Orientation and Relationship Building skills
- Effective Communication Skills / Written and Verbal
- Strong technical ability and proficiency in utilizing multiple systems
- Ability to shift work efforts quickly and make decisions in a fast past environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
