Job Summary
BioLegend is looking for an Associate Scientist to join the Recombinant Protein team. This position is responsible for developing functional protein products using cutting-edge protein expression and purification technologies. The individual will contribute to business revenue by transforming scientific knowledge into high-quality, sellable products.
The candidate should demonstrate a strong ability to self-start and adapt to the company’s quality system. Duties include designing and implementing gene-to-protein workflows to produce high-quality recombinant proteins for use as research reagents in a fast-paced environment. The individual will develop and optimize protein expression, purification, and characterization processes across both prokaryotic and eukaryotic expression platforms. The candidate should possess excellent critical thinking and technical skills, along with sufficient troubleshooting experience to develop products efficiently while ensuring quality and safety. The individual will also participate in initiating sustainability efforts for existing designs based on market demand.

The individual will perform laboratory-based protein processing, including cell lysis, refolding, and purification using various preparative chromatography methods, to develop final product formulations. The base salary range for this full-time position is$90,000 - 100,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company.
