This role is designed for a mid-level software engineer with 2 to 5 years of professional experience who is comfortable working on high-stakes backend infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in Java or Ruby and experience building scalable systems within AWS environments. While a background in Identity and Access Management (IAM) is a plus, the team is primarily looking for someone who can navigate technical ambiguity and help platformize authentication services for global enterprise customers. The IAM Login Services team is responsible for managing authentication into Stripe. We are expanding our authentication stack to allow more teams at Stripe to integrate with it and to support AI agents authenticating into Stripe. This is a critical workstream due to the growth in AI adoption and the need for secure and manageable Identity and Access Management (IAM) as Stripe's enterprise customer base grows.
