Brown & Brownis seeking a Benefits Specialist to join our growing team in Milwaukie, WI!
The Benefits Specialist assists the Account Team in servicing the benefit consulting responsibilities of the employee benefit clients. Utilizes technical expertise to retain present clients. Administers marketing and renewal functions. Assists client with daily service functions. To acquire a knowledge of all phases of the roles within the Employee Benefits Department.
How You Will Contribute:
- Basic level of compliance, benchmarking, renewal & marketing, reporting & analytics and able to perform these functions with little guidance.
- Supports onboarding new clients.
- Assist clients with daily service functions and frequent ad hoc requests.
- Create, review and edit employee benefit guides, benefit manuals and other client materials as requested.
- Creates and maintains strong relationships with vendors.
- Reviews insurance circulars and bulletins to keep current on changes in the industry.
- Confers with team to identify, plan and develop methods and procedures to obtain greater efficiency and effectiveness of benefit programs.
- Support basic renewal & marketing processes and confirmations.
- Assist in review of plan documents (SBCs, SPDs, Certs, etc.) to ensure accuracy of content.
- Data entry into B&B systems and client management database.
- Printing, preparation and mailing of client materials.
- Assists in the coordination of client meetings, market/carrier meetings, etc.
- Participate in market meetings, seminars and training programs as directed.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Licenses and Certifications:- Must obtain and maintain active Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent License within 1 yr.
Skills & Experience to be Successful:- Minimum of high school degree or equivalent required
- College degree (preferred)
- 1+ years employee benefits experience with a thorough understanding and knowledge of employee benefits
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
