Job Description
Analytica is seeking a Data Governance Managerto support one or more dynamic, long-term federal government enterprise data programs for the Defense Health Agency. The position will be hybrid in the Falls Church VA area

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement practical, tool-based data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance.
- Work with stakeholders to define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability roles and responsibilities.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business users to build and manage data pipelines that support data governance and quality initiatives.
- Manage metadata and data catalogs using tools such as Microsoft Purview, Informatica, or Collibra.
- Monitor data lifecycle management practices, including data classification, usage, retention, and archiving.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations and standards including HIPAA, FISMA, and other applicable data security guidelines.
- Support data governance working groups and participate in interdepartmental collaboration on data-related initiatives.
- Maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data governance documentation.
- Lead and manage data quality assessments and remediation efforts to ensure accurate and reliable data.
- Provide training and guidance on governing data directly within tools and platforms, not just through written policies.
- Mentor and develop data analysts and junior staff
- Collaborate on the implementation of data governance tools and technologies to support data lineage, metadata management, data cataloging, and data quality monitoring
- Utilize SQL, Python, Power BI, or similar tools to directly support governance, data quality, and analysis efforts.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in information management, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, practical Implementation withing tools, data quality management, and data lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience working with data pipelines, SQL, Python, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Experience managing metadata and catalogs using governance tools like Microsoft Purview, Informatica, or Collibra.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
- Experience with data cataloging, metadata management, and governance tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working in government healthcare programs (e.g., VA, DHA, DoD)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with enterprise data governance frameworks in complex, regulated environments.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and either hold or be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance or higher
Preferred Qualification: - Certification in data governance or related areas (DM-BOK, CDMP, CISSP, CIPP) a plus
