Work type: remote
Location: Home Based - Americas
Type: Full-time
This role is designed for a seasoned alliance professional with a deep background in the Linux and cloud software ecosystem. You should have extensive experience managing high-stakes partnerships with major Independent Hardware Vendors (IHVs) and a proven track record of leading global business development teams. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can navigate complex "sell-to, sell-through, and sell-with" motions while maintaining executive-level relationships.
A standout feature of this position is Canonical's mature remote-first culture, offering true geographic flexibility within the Americas. While the role is home-based, it includes unique perks like twice-yearly international "sprints" to meet colleagues in person, a $2,000 annual professional development budget, and travel upgrades for long-haul company events. Compensation is reviewed annually and includes a performance-driven bonus or commission structure.
**You might be a good fit if you...**
* Have successfully managed multi-million dollar alliances with Dell Technologies or similar global hardware giants.
* Possess technical fluency in virtualization, containers (Kubernetes/Docker), and open-source ecosystems.
* Are a "player-coach" who can lead a team of Business Development Managers while personally driving global strategy.
* Thrive in a high-pressure, autonomous environment where performance is measured by revenue growth and market expansion.
