In Fortune Brands Innovation, Inc. we're looking a Design Engineer Supervisor for our New Innovation Center in Nuevo Leon, you will lead a group of design engineers and work with cross functional teams to support product engineering projects within a structured design/development process. Your design work will support our continuous improvement and cost reduction plans to improve the health of our business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and support a team of Design Engineers, providing technical guidance, daily direction, and performance feedback.
- Hands-on drafting work to support product engineering projects.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering to translate customer and regulatory requirements into clear design concepts, specifications, and detailed drawings.
- Lead design engineering execution for assigned projects, ensuring quality, timing, and technical rigor.
- Coach and mentor team members on design best practices, GD&T application, problem solving, and engineering standards. Assign and balance design workload, set priorities, and ensure commitments are met.
- Lead structured problem-solving activities, including root cause analysis and failure investigations.
- Ensure robust, manufacturable designs through active participation in Design Reviews and DFM/DFA.
- Continuously improving processes, skills, team environment and tools necessary to achieve FBIN product leadership strategy
## Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required
- Masters degree is preferred
- Fully Bilingual
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Design Engineering, including hands-on CAD work.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical lead or supervisory role.
- Strong experience with 3D parametric solid modeling (SolidWorks preferred).
- Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis for components and assemblies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for dealing with multiple levels of staff, customers and suppliers
- Ability to perform detail-oriented work accurately
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
- Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Self-motivated team player with a hands-on leadership mindset.
