Developer Advocacy Director at Vercel
This role is designed for a seasoned leader in the developer relations space who views DevRel as a product-driven, entrepreneurial function rather than just pub
Work type: remote
Location: Hybrid - San Francisco, New York City
Salary: $200,000 – $300,000/yr
Type: Full-time
This role is designed for a seasoned leader in the developer relations space who views DevRel as a product-driven, entrepreneurial function rather than just public speaking or community management. You should have a deep technical background in modern web architecture and a proven track record of leading teams that build "production-grade" prototypes to influence product roadmaps. Experience with AI-native development and LLMs is crucial, as you will be tasked with defining how developers use agentic tools.
Vercel offers a highly competitive compensation package ($200k–$300k base) with equity in a category-defining company. While the role is remote-friendly, it features a unique hybrid structure for those near SF or NYC. This is a high-impact "Director" level position reporting to the VP of Developer Experience, where you will essentially run an internal R&D "Labs" team to unlock the future of the web.
**You might be a good fit if you...**
* Have evolved DevRel from "evangelism" into a systems-level discipline that solves technical friction at scale.
* Are a hands-on technical leader comfortable with Next.js, AI SDKs, and agent-driven workflows.
* Prefer building real-world applications and technical artifacts over managing vanity metrics like "impressions."
* Can navigate high-ambiguity environments to turn developer insights into shipped product features.
