Type: Full-time
This role is ideal for a mid-level engineer who lives and breathes open-source software and thrives at the intersection of coding and community building. You should have a strong background in the Linux ecosystem—specifically with software packaging—and a demonstrable history of contributing to public repositories or technical documentation.
As part of a newly created team, you will have significant influence over the feedback loop between external developers and internal product strategy. While the base salary is location-dependent, the package includes a $2,000 annual professional development budget, performance bonuses, and a "remote-first" culture that has been established for two decades. Expect to travel internationally twice a year for team sprints.
**You might be a good fit if you...**
* Have hands-on experience with Linux packaging (Snaps, debs, containers/rocks, or charms).
* Are a confident public speaker who can represent technical products at conferences and meetups.
* Are deeply empathetic toward developer pain points and enjoy solving "status quo" problems.
* Reside in an APAC or EMEA time zone and enjoy working in a highly distributed, autonomous environment.
