Summary

This role is designed for a seasoned accounting leader with 10+ years of experience, ideally coming from a Big 4 background followed by leadership in a public company or high-growth fintech. As a Director, you’ll be a "builder-operator," tasked with professionalizing accounting operations, overseeing Accounts Payable, and leading a future ERP implementation. An active CPA is non-negotiable, as is deep technical mastery of ASC 842, 718, and 350-40. The compensation is competitive at $200k–$220k plus equity, set within a mission-driven fintech that has reached a significant growth stage. This is a high-visibility position reporting directly to the VP Controller at a company transitioning from "stealth" to scale. About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven leader to join our growing finance team as Director, Corporate Accounting,owning core accounting operations for corporate accounting while also overseeing our accounts payable function. In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for optimizing current accounting and financial reporting processes and building, developing and empowering a high-performing team that can scale with Flex’s next phase of growth. You will design and manage well-controlled, efficient accounting processes, leveraging technology and automation to drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate has a deep, practical knowledge of US GAAP, strong business acumen, and a strategic, big-picture perspective. We’re looking for a hands-on leader who embodies resilience, ownership, and exceptional judgment, and who can navigate comfortably in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment. This position will report to the VP, Controller and will be located in our New York headquarters on a hybrid basis.

Flex takes a market-based approach to pay, ensuring compensation is commensurate with a candidate's experience and our internal leveling guidelines. For candidates located in our Tier 1 markets (NYC), the base salary pay range for this role is $200,000—$220,000 USD.For all other U.S. locations, Flex utilizes a geographic pay differential based on a cost of labor index. If you are located outside of the Tier 1 states listed above, your starting pay will be adjusted to align with the market conditions of your specific geographic zone.
