Job Description
IDEXX is seeking a seasoned and forward-looking Director of Global Software Product Management to lead the strategy, vision, and execution of our global Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) portfolio.
This leader will oversee a team of Software Product Managers responsible for mission-critical applications that power our worldwide Reference Laboratory network, including CLEO, LYNXX, NovoPath360, Instrument Manager, and other global lab platforms.
This role sits at the intersection of software, operations, and diagnostics, and will play a key part in shaping the future of our laboratory technology ecosystem. The Director will drive cloud-native modernization, workflow automation, and the adoption of AI-enabled product practices, while ensuring the delivery of highly reliable, scalable global platforms.
Success in this role requires a balance of strategic leadership and operational execution. You will set direction, align cross-functional stakeholders, lead and develop teams, and ensure consistent delivery against a complex, global product roadmap.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Strategy & Roadmap Ownership
- Define and own the global product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the LIMS portfolio, including CLEO, LYNXX, NovoPath360, Instrument Manager, and related platforms
- Drive prioritization of product investments to improve customer experience, operational efficiency, scalability, resiliency, and speed to market
- Lead global roadmap planning and ensure alignment across Reference Labs, R&D, Veterinary Software, and enterprise stakeholders
- Develop and execute multi-year product strategies focused on modernization, workflow optimization, and automation
- Establish clear product goals, KPIs, and success metrics tied to business outcomes
Team Leadership- Lead, develop, and mentor a team of Software Product Managers across multiple products and domains
- Set clear vision, expectations, and operating cadence for the Software Product Management function
- Build a high-performing, accountable, and collaborative team culture
- Coach Product Managers on prioritization, roadmap development, stakeholder engagement, and business case articulation
- Drive consistency in product management practices, governance, tooling, and communication
Executive Communication & Stakeholder Management- Provide regular, concise updates to senior leadership on roadmap progress, risks, and investment priorities
- Develop and present strategic recommendations on platform direction, portfolio rationalization, and technology investments
- Build strong partnerships with senior stakeholders across business, product, and engineering organizations
- Align cross-functional teams around clear priorities and a shared vision
AI & Automation Leadership- Champion the use of AI and automation to evolve how product management is practiced
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled tools to enhance prioritization, requirements development, customer insights, and product analytics
- Enable Product Managers to leverage data and AI-driven approaches to improve speed, quality, and decision-making
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in software product management, with increasing scope and leadership responsibility
- 5+ years leading Product Managers or large, cross-functional product teams
- Proven experience leading enterprise software products in a global environment
- Experience working within LIMS, laboratory systems, diagnostics platforms, healthcare technology, or other regulated environments
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, SaaS platforms, APIs, and enterprise integrations
- Demonstrated success owning and delivering complex, multi-product roadmaps
- Executive presence with the ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior leadership
- Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making capabilities
- Willingness to travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with laboratory operations, diagnostics workflows, pathology systems, microbiology, or instrument integrations
- Experience working within Agile, SAFe, or other scaled delivery models
- Track record of leading platform modernization and cloud migration initiatives
- Familiarity with AI, machine learning, automation, and data-driven product practices
- MBA or advanced degree
