## Job Description
The Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS) Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all environmental, health, safety, and security programs at the site to ensure a safe, compliant, and secure workplace. This role partners closely with site leadership, operations, and corporate EHSS to drive regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and continuous improvement in safety culture. The EHSS Manager serves as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, providing strategic direction while also maintaining a hands‑on presence to support day‑to‑day operations and employee engagement.
Position location –This position requires onsite presence (5 days per week) at our manufacturing facility located in City of Industry, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide hands-on, compliance-focused and technical EHSS support and guidance to facility management and personnel; implement EHSS procedures and systems to drive compliance and risk management.
- Partnership with FBIN corporate EHSS department to align, standardize and/or harmonize site practices with corporate standards.
- Conduct routine inspections, audits and site walkthroughs to identify and close EHSS operational gaps.
- Ensure site goals and objectives are developed and tracked throughout the year; ensure EHSS data is reported as needed in the FBIN system of record.
- Lead incident investigation process/ensure appropriate corrective actions to eliminate incident recurrence.
- Provide performance input to site team members regarding EHSS leadership, performance, and accountability.
- Oversee required emergency preparedness efforts including safety, spill response, fire, and natural disaster/inclement weather drills.
- Oversee site change management program to ensure that incoming equipment and changes to existing equipment, facilities, or procedures are reviewed and appropriate actions taken to eliminate or mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
- Develop relevant EHSS training and ensure facility training is conducted; lead training and train-the-trainer sessions as appropriate.
- Develop and lead site implementation of the site’s strategic EHSS plans with site leadership and corporate EHSS.
- Serve as primary contact and liaison for regulatory agencies.
- Oversee EHSS-related projects and maintain records for inspections and audits.
- Manage site regulatory permits and obligations; ensure inspections, monitoring, reporting, and communication are completed per regulatory requirements (examples: stormwater sampling and pollution prevention, regulated waste disposal, annual California Emergency Reporting System submittals).
- Monitor facility waste streams and their associated cost – implement corrective action and improvements as needed.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends, safety legislation and ensures compliance.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
## Qualifications
- 7+ years of EHSS management experience in manufacturing/heavy industrial environment. Environmental experience maintaining compliance with California and federal hazardous waste, stormwater and hazardous material storage requirements.
- Ability to prioritize continuous improvement focus for the site EHSS (environmental, health, safety, security) programs based on organizational maturity models.
- Experience designing, writing, and implementing EHS policies and programs.
- Experience managing workers’ compensation claims and information.
- Demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and support employees and contractors in EHS practices. Ability to work within diverse and challenging situations to achieve results in a straightforward and composed manner.
- Dedicated and committed EHS leadership and presence.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- BS/Masters in occupational health & safety, engineering, environmental sciences, or a related field with significant EHSS experience.
- Associate Safety Professional/Certified Safety Professional, Registered Environmental Manager/Registered Environmental Professional/Certified Hazardous Materials Manager certifications are also desirable.

Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.
