Work type: remote
Location: Home Based - APAC
Type: Full-time
This role is for a highly skilled "Linux plumber" who bridges the gap between deep technical engineering and customer-facing solution architecture. The ideal candidate has significant experience with low-level Linux (boot, BIOS, firmware) and the nuances of embedded systems like Yocto or Buildroot. Since this position focuses on the APAC market, native-level fluency in Mandarin and professional English is required.
As a remote-first position, you will enjoy a high degree of autonomy but will travel up to 30% for client sites and global team "sprints" in international locations. A standout perk is the $2,000 annual personal development budget and a performance-driven bonus structure. You will be at the forefront of IoT innovation, working on mission-critical projects in automotive, robotics, and medical devices.
**You might be a good fit if you...**
* Are an expert in Debian/Ubuntu packaging and have coded professionally in Go, Python, or C/C++.
* Enjoy the challenge of hardware enablement and debugging complex OS-level issues.
* Can pivot comfortably from deep technical scripting to presenting high-level solutions to stakeholders.
* Are located in the APAC region and are willing to travel regularly to China.
