Work type: onsite
Location: Office Based - Taipei, Taiwan
Type: Full-time
This role is designed for a technically-rooted engineering leader with a deep understanding of the Linux ecosystem and hardware-software integration. The ideal candidate has a strong academic background and experience managing quality engineering teams that work on low-level systems (BIOS, firmware, kernel). While Canonical is famous for remote work, this specific leadership position is a rare **office-based** role in Taipei, focused on managing partnerships with major PC OEMs like Dell, HP, and Lenovo.
The standout feature of this position is the opportunity to shape the global hardware certification strategy for Ubuntu. You will lead a high-performing team using open-source test frameworks and custom automation hardware. Canonical offers unique perks, including a $2,000 annual professional development budget, performance-based bonuses, and twice-yearly international travel for team "sprints" in worldwide locations.
**You might be a good fit if you...**
* Have a deep technical background in low-level embedded software (x86/ARM) and Linux architecture.
* Are passionate about test automation and have a track record of delivering high-quality software products.
* Thrive in a high-standard, analytical environment and enjoy mentoring a distributed team of engineers.
* Are based in or willing to work from an office in the Taipei Minsheng district.
