Summary

This role is designed for a technical leader with a strong background in distributed systems who is ready to manage a high-performing "Blockchain Integrations" team. The ideal candidate has experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams and a deep commitment to mentorship. While the stack primarily uses Go, the focus is on your ability to drive operational excellence and guide engineers through the complexities of blockchain infrastructure and secure institutional finance. The position offers the flexibility of being fully remote within the U.S. and provides the opportunity to work at a $3 billion+ Series D company backed by major institutions like Goldman Sachs and Visa. You will be at the strategic core of the business, overseeing the technology that enables interaction with hundreds of blockchain networks. As the leader of this team, you’ll have a material influence on both the product roadmap and the hiring strategy as the organization scales. **You might be a good fit if you:** * Have professional experience managing and mentoring engineers within a distributed systems environment. * Prioritize code quality, test infrastructure, and business value over "cool tech." * Possess a strong grasp of CS fundamentals (concurrency, algorithms) and ideally have an interest in applied cryptography or Go. * Enjoy the challenge of managing the "translation" of complex product roadmaps into reliable, scalable systems.

As an Engineering Manager for our Blockchain Integrations team, you’ll lead a high-performing group at the strategic core of Anchorage Digital. This team is responsible for enabling secure, scalable interaction with hundreds of blockchain networks and assets, powering everything from custody and staking to governance and other on-chain functionality. Your mission is to grow and guide this team through deep mentorship, operational excellence, and strong execution.
You’ll be responsible for hiring and developing exceptional engineers, partnering with cross-functional leaders, and translating our roadmap into reliable, scalable systems. The team owns both blockchain integrations and secure infrastructure that supports our institutional platform, so the challenges are complex, and the impact is meaningful.

Work with other engineering managers, product management, people/recruiting, and the rest of engineering to drive team growth, retention, and hiring moving forward.

Have a material influence on not only what Anchorage builds, but who builds it, taking ownership for the growth planning, recruiting and performance management of a team of Engineers.

## You may be a fit for this role if:

You have demonstrated experience managing, mentoring, and growing a geographically distributed team.

You have real world experience building complex distributed systems. We mostly use Go, however languages can be learned. We really care about your engineering and management skills more than any specific language or framework.

You enjoy building services from scratch and supporting them over a meaningful period of time.

You genuinely care about code quality and test infrastructure.

You prioritize end-user experience and business value over “cool tech.”

You have developed “computer science fundamentals”, i.e. concurrency, algorithms, and data structures (Formal CS degree NOT required).

You self describe as some combination of the following: creative, humble, ambitious, detail oriented, hard working, trustworthy, eager to learn, methodical, action oriented, and tenacious.

## Although not a requirement, bonus points if:

You have experience with applied cryptography.

In your mind the word “crypto” stands for cryptography, not cryptocurrency.

You read blockchain protocol white papers for fun, and stay up to date with the proliferation of cryptoasset innovations.

You have a background in the finance industry.

You have professional experience with Go/Rust/TypeScript/Solidity.

Familiarity with optimistic & zero-knowledge tech.
