Work type: onsite
Location: Canberra, ACT, Australia
Type: Full-time
This Engineering Management role is designed for a former Senior Individual Contributor (likely a Data or Analytics Engineer) who has transitioned into leadership with at least 2 years of management experience. You should be deeply familiar with distributed systems, data integrity at scale, and large-scale multi-cloud data migrations. Since this position is based in Canberra, it requires a leader who can balance technical mentorship with the operational rigors of a Scrum environment.
Working at this global AI-powered platform offers a "people-first" culture, evidenced by their Great Place To Work® certification and unique perks like 5 extra "Karbon Days" of leave annually in addition to your standard 4 weeks. You will oversee a multi-million dollar product and lead a team utilizing a modern stack including Databricks, Snowflake, and dbt. The company emphasizes "AI-enabled engineering," encouraging you to integrate AI tools to boost developer productivity.
**You might be a good fit if you:**
* Have a strong background in C# (.NET) and modern data stack tools like Databricks or Snowflake.
* Are passionate about coaching engineers and building a "you build it, you own it" culture.
* Prefer working on-site in Canberra while collaborating with global teams across multiple time zones.
* Have experience managing the trade-offs between rapid product innovation and technical debt.
