Job Description

Saalex Corporation is seeking an Engineering Technician VI in Ridgecrest, CA. Saalex Corporation is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $43.85 - $50/hour (depending upon experience)

Work Location: Fully onsite.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician VI with extensive machining expertise to support advanced manufacturing, production, and first-article operations. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on knowledge of CNC machining, strong programming capabilities, and the ability to mentor junior machinists while working independently in a high‑precision environment.

Essential Functions:

• Operate and set up lathes, mills, and 3, 4, and 5-axis horizontal and vertical CNC machines.
• Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using MasterCAM.
• Perform first article inspections and support ongoing production machining.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve machining challenges and improve processes.
• Train, guide, and mentor junior-level machinists.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, safety, and quality control.
• Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.

Required:

• 10+ years of proven machining experience, including CNC operation and setup is required.
• Proficiency in MasterCAM for CNC programming is required.
• Demonstrated experience with first article and production machining is required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.
• Strong communication skills is required.
• High School Diploma or GED required. AA or a Machining certification is preferred.

Desired:

• Experience with CAD software is desired.
• Machining Certification is desired.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required. AA or a Machining certification is desired

Security Clearance:

• Active Secret clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
