Type: Full-time
This role is ideal for software engineers who are passionate about Golang and the Linux ecosystem. While titled as mid-level, the company is hiring across all seniority levels. The most successful candidates will have a strong academic background in STEM and a proven track record of building high-performance, secure software. Because this is a globally distributed team, you need to be a self-starter with excellent written English and a deep technical interest in system-level engineering.
Significant highlights include a truly "remote-first" culture that has been in place since 2004, offering the flexibility to work from almost anywhere in the world. You’ll benefit from a $2,000 annual learning budget and twice-yearly international travel for team "sprints." This is a unique opportunity to work on industry-standard open-source products like Ubuntu, LXD, and Kubernetes that power the global cloud.
**You might be a good fit if you...**
* Have extensive experience writing high-quality Go code specifically for Linux environments.
* Are comfortable working in a highly distributed, asynchronous team across various time zones.
* Possess a strong "system-level" mindset and understand the internals of operating systems.
* Are willing and able to travel internationally for up to two weeks twice a year.
