Work type: remote
Location: Birmingham, AL
Salary: $122,000 – $150,000/yr
Type: Full-time
This role is designed for a seasoned Azure expert who thrives at the intersection of architecture and hands-on SRE. With at least 8 years of engineering experience, you should be deeply familiar with maturing Azure Landing Zones and building "Paved Roads" for developers. The ideal candidate isn't just a designer; you are a practitioner skilled in Bicep/Terraform and Kubernetes who enjoys refining CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure resilience in a large-scale enterprise.
The position offers a strong balance of stability and modernization. It is a **fully remote** leadership-level individual contributor role with a competitive salary range of **$122k – $150k**. You’ll be joining a team with an established platform, meaning you’ll focus on high-impact optimizations—like implementing Chaos Engineering, advancing AKS governance, and fine-tuning SLOs—rather than basic setup.
**You might be a good fit if you:**
* Have 5+ years of experience specifically architecting and troubleshooting production-scale Azure environments.
* Are a power user of IaC (Bicep, Terraform) and CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
* Have hands-on experience managing and scaling Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
* Enjoy a "blameless" culture focused on site reliability, observability, and automated self-healing.
