## Job Description
We are looking for an accomplished and experienced Java Engineering Lead/Manager to lead our UKBI engineering team. Reporting into our Engineering Director, you will have a strong background in Java, microservices, serverless architecture, Docker, EKS and search technologies such as Solr or open search.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Java engineers, providing guidance for their professional development.
- Collaborate with teams to understand requirements and provide solutions that meet our needs.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to lead innovation within the team.
- Develop scalable software solutions using Java, microservices architecture, Docker, EKS, Search systems with Solr or Open Search, AWS services
- Ensure software delivery through best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
- Participate in sprints, contributing hands-on to software development.
- Maintain unit tests and contribute to test automation to ensure software reliability and maintainability.
- Manage risks and technical impediments, communicating with leadership to ensure project success.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Provide technical guidance to team members
## Qualifications
- Experience in Java, microservices, python, SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
- Experience in search technologies such as Solr or Open Search.
- Expertise of AWS Services like EC2, EKS and Lambda.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
- Collaborate effectively with partners at all levels.
