Type: Full-time
This role is ideal for a versatile, senior-level Linux specialist who is passionate about open-source ecosystems. You should have a deep understanding of low-level system software (C/C++) and Python, with a specific interest in how hardware and software intersect. The ideal candidate has an exceptional academic background and enjoys moving between different layers of the stack—from hardware enablement and virtualization to AI accelerators and packaging.
This is a globally remote position with a high degree of autonomy, offering the unique opportunity to influence the future of Ubuntu. While you'll work from home, you will travel internationally for 2–4 weeks a year for team "sprints." Notable perks include a $2,000 annual learning budget, a performance-driven bonus structure, and travel upgrades like Priority Pass for company events.
**You might be a good fit if you...**
* Are proficient in C, C++, and Python and understand Linux distribution packaging.
* Have experience with silicon-level technologies (ARM, RISC-V, x86) or hardware enablement (GPUs, SmartNICs, SoCs).
* Enjoy collaborating with upstream open-source communities like Debian.
* Value a "remote-first" culture but look forward to meeting colleagues in person a few times a year.
