Summary

This role is designed for a technical leader who bridges the gap between software engineering and deep-scale network architecture. The ideal candidate has a strong background in managing engineering teams that build cloud-scale automation, specifically focusing on EVPN-VXLAN fabrics, multi-tenant segmentation, and API-driven networking. You should be equally comfortable discussing career development and debugging Linux kernel dataplane behavior or routing protocols. The compensation is highly competitive ($175k–$195k) for a fully remote U.S. position. Vultr offers a robust benefits package, including 100% company-paid insurance premiums, a 100% 401(k) match, and unique longevity perks like a one-month paid sabbatical every five years and annual anniversary bonuses. With a recent $3.5B valuation, this is a chance to lead a core team at a rapidly scaling, privately-held cloud provider. **You might be a good fit if you...** * Have experience lead/managing teams that build networking controllers using Python, Go, or Rust. * Possess expert-level knowledge of EVPN-VXLAN, VRFs, and BGP routing policy. * Understand the "under the hood" of Linux networking (namespaces, netlink, iptables). * Are passionate about building developer-friendly networking APIs and highly automated infrastructure.
