You should be a "player-coach" who is equally comfortable architecting a technical solution as you are mentoring a global team or presenting to C-suite executives. The compensation is highly competitive, with an OTE reaching up to $279,500 plus equity and bonuses. Based in San Francisco, the role offers a hybrid balance (3 days in-office) and the opportunity to lead Intercom’s transition into an "AI-first" platform. ## What's the opportunity?
We’re seeking a transformational Solutions Engineering leader to lead our Mid-Market and Enterprise SE teams. You’ll be a pivotal figure in helping Intercom scale its AI-driven support platform to some of the world’s most well-known brands. This role will shape how we engage with large, complex organisations, defining our go-to-market, building a world-class team, and delivering tangible customer outcomes through innovation and credibility.
This role is both strategic and hands-on. You will lead a Solutions Engineering team focused on winning complex deals, creating vertical-specific solution architectures, and building repeatable playbooks. We believe in leaders who are open to be a player and a coach, regardless of seniority. You’ll collaborate closely with Sales, Success, Product, Engineering, and Services to deliver customer transformation through Intercom’s AI-first platform – be it through strategic guidance as a senior leader on the team, or securing deals with your own technical credibility where needed.

The OTE salary range for candidates within the San Francisco Bay Area is $225,000 - $279,500. Actual base pay will depend on a variety of factors such as education, skills, experience, location, etc. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All regular employees may also be eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
