Work type: remote

Location: Home based - Worldwide

Type: Full-time

This role is ideal for a technically-minded professional who bridges the gap between engineering and sales. You should have a strong background in MLOps or Data Engineering, particularly within the Linux and Kubernetes ecosystems, and enjoy the consultative aspect of designing architectures for external customers. While you’ll use Python to develop Kubernetes operators, this is a "Field Engineering" (Solutions Architect) role focused on pre-sales and deployment rather than pure product software development. A standout feature is the truly global, remote-first culture. You can work from almost anywhere, balanced by international travel (up to 30%) for high-stakes customer meetings and twice-yearly team "sprints" in worldwide locations. Canonical offers a structured $2,000 annual development budget, performance bonuses, and travel perks like Priority Pass for long-haul trips. **You might be a good fit if you...** * Have hands-on experience with MLOps tools like Kubeflow, MLFlow, or Spark. * Are a Linux power user (Debian/Ubuntu) who is comfortable with "infrastructure-as-code." * Enjoy presenting complex technical solutions to stakeholders and solving high-scale problems (like LLM training or massive real-time data processing). * Have an exceptional academic record and a thrive-in-excellence mindset.
