Type: Full-time
This role is designed for a senior technical leader who remains deeply hands-on with code. You are an ideal candidate if you have a strong academic background, a history of professional software delivery (particularly in open source), and the ability to mentor a distributed team of engineers. You should be fluent in Python or Go and possess a robust understanding of the Linux ecosystem and Kubernetes.
The position offers a unique "remote-first" culture where you’ll manage a global team while meeting in person 2–4 times a year in various international locations. Standout perks include a $2,000 annual personal development budget, performance-driven bonuses, and travel upgrades for long-haul company events. You will be at the forefront of the open-source movement, shaping observability tools that integrate metrics, logging, and distributed tracing for a massive user base.
**You might be a good fit if you...**
* Are a "player-coach" who enjoys reviewing architecture and code as much as managing people.
* Have experience with the Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry ecosystem.
* Thrive in a highly autonomous, distributed work environment across EMEA or the Americas.
* Value high standards of documentation, quality, and performance optimization.
