This role is designed for a senior technical leader with a deep background in open-source infrastructure and distributed systems. The ideal candidate has transitioned from a hands-on engineering background (preferably in Python or Go) into a management role, specifically overseeing the operations and delivery of managed services. You should be an expert in the OpenStack ecosystem and comfortable leading a globally distributed team in a high-accountability environment.
As a remote-first organization, this position offers significant geographical flexibility and a unique "sprint" culture where the team meets in person 2–4 times a year worldwide. While the base salary is location-dependent, the package includes a performance-based bonus, a $2,000 annual professional development budget, and travel perks like Priority Pass for long-haul flights. This is a high-growth environment perfect for those who value disciplined engineering processes and the Ubuntu ecosystem.
**You might be a good fit if you...**
* Have professional experience managing engineers in a Linux-heavy environment (Ubuntu/Debian preferred).
* Possess deep technical knowledge of OpenStack and cloud topologies.
* Are comfortable maintaining high service level agreements (SLAs) for global customer deployments.
* Enjoy a mix of remote work and occasional international travel (up to 20%) for team alignment.
