FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. JOB TITLE: Photojournalist
FOX6 is looking to hire a creative, visual storyteller who thrives on uncovering the truth. While you will cover general assignment news, this role has a dedicated focus on investigative stories, collaborating closely with our investigative team to bring high-impact narratives to our viewers. You must thrive in a fast-paced environment, be willing to pivot from breaking news to deep-dive projects and possess a passion for visual journalism. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your days at FOX6 will be dynamic and far from monotonous. Key responsibilities include:
• Investigative Storytelling: Flex your storytelling muscles by producing longform investigative pieces that require technical precision and creative visual sequencing.
• Field Reporting: Chase breaking news and turn general assignment stories on tight deadlines.
• Diverse Coverage: Capture everything from local events to compelling weather video.
• Technical Excellence: Use company-provided equipment to capture high-quality natural sound and sequences that turn data and facts compelling visual stories.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education: Vocational or Technical School degree is strongly preferred.
• Experience: At least two years of Television News shooting experience preferred, not required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in non-linear editing software (preferably Edius) and professional photo equipment.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, and handle 30 to 50 pounds of gear in all weather conditions, including Wisconsin winters and summers.
• Logistics: Must have a valid driver’s license for frequent travel; a drone license is preferred.
• Mindset: Ability to handle strict deadlines and the persistence required for investigative work.
