This role is designed for a seasoned infrastructure expert who has a deep background in Large-Scale Networking and Software Defined Networking (SDN). The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader comfortable working with Go or Rust to build high-performance networking foundations. You should have a strong grasp of BGP, VXLAN, and Kubernetes networking, particularly within hyperscale or cloud provider environments. The compensation is competitive ($140k–$180k), but the benefits package is the real standout. We’re looking for a Principal Engineer, Cloud Networking to architect and lead the evolution of Vultr’s global cloud networking platform. You’ll drive design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure network services including VPC, edge connectivity, and security features. This is a cross-functional, hands-on role shaping the networking foundation of Vultr's infrastructure.
