Work type: remote
Location: New York, NY | San Francisco, CA | Los Angeles, CA | Seattle, WA
Salary: $260,000 – $325,000/yr
Type: Full-time
This role is designed for a seasoned legal professional with **8+ years of experience**, specifically within the fintech or payments sector. The ideal candidate has spent at least three years navigating the intricacies of money transmission, AML/BSA, and card network rules. You should be equally comfortable negotiating complex commercial contracts with global processors as you are advising product teams on the regulatory implications of new features in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The compensation is highly competitive, ranging from **$260,000 to $325,000**, and comes with a robust benefits package including a 4% 401k match and generous family planning allowances. While the role is remote, it follows a "remote co-located" model requiring residency within commuting distance of **NYC, Seattle, San Francisco, or LA** for occasional in-person collaboration. You’ll also get a unique "dogfooding" budget to buy and sell on the platform. **You might be a good fit if you:** * Have deep expertise in **U.S. and international payment regulations** (like PSD2 and money transmission laws). * Are a "business-minded" lawyer who prefers finding solutions over simply saying "no." * Enjoy working at the intersection of law, engineering, and financial infrastructure. * Hold a J.D. and an active bar membership in CA or NY.
