Summary

This role is ideal for a seasoned Mid-level Product Designer (5+ years of experience) who thrives in fast-paced, "zero-to-one" environments. You should be a systems thinker capable of untangling complex workflows—like live auction logistics or marketplace discovery—and turning them into polished, intuitive interfaces. While remote-friendly, you’ll need to be based in the U.S. and comfortable working within a highly collaborative, cross-functional team. The compensation package is standout, offering a high salary range of $153k - $235k plus robust benefits like a 4% 401k match and 16 weeks of parental leave. Whatnot also emphasizes a "dogfooding" culture, providing monthly allowances for you to shop and sell on the platform yourself. You can choose to work fully remote or from hubs in SF, Seattle, NYC, or LA. **You might be a good fit if you...** * Have a portfolio showcasing shipped e-commerce or marketplace products. * Are an expert in Figma and high-fidelity prototyping tools like Protopie or Framer. * Enjoy solving ambiguous problems and designing scalable systems from scratch. * Want to influence the future of "entertainment commerce" and live-streaming tech.

## 💻 Role

Whatnot is looking for thoughtful, experienced Product Designers who are passionate about solving complex problems, designing scalable systems, and building thoughtful experiences that balance user needs with business priorities. You’ll lead the design of end-to-end workflows across high-impact surfaces, whether focused on user-facing features, internal tools, or core platform systems.

In this role, you’ll be instrumental in shaping the future of our product by creating experiences that are clear, efficient, and user-centric, all while collaborating deeply with designers, product managers, engineers, data scientists, operations, and other cross-functional partners. This could include anything from designing onboarding experiences or discovery flows to crafting educational content, user review systems, or real-time interactions during live events.

You'll report to a Design leader and will have the option to either work from one of our office hubs (LA, SF, NYC, or Seattle) or remote (U.S. only).

## 👋 Who You Are

People who do well at Whatnot tend to be comfortable figuring things out as they go, biased toward action, and genuinely curious about what they're building. They care more about outcomes than credit and stay close to the product and the people using it.
