Job Description
### Description:
[Skimmer](http://getskimmer.com) is on a mission: to modernize the pool and spa service and repair industry. We’re a private equity-backed company with 6000+ customers using Skimmer’s pool service platform to transform their businesses. But we’re not stopping there (there are over 70,000 pool service companies in this surprisingly large “niche” space).
Our customers love us almost as much as we love them (check out [our reviews](https://www.capterra.com/p/177014/Skimmer/reviews/) and our NPS score of 68!)
We were recently honored to join the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies, the Deloitte Fast 500, were named one of Built In Austin's Best Startups, as well as Austin's Best Places for Working Parents.
We’re looking for big thinkers with small egos, so let’s dive in!
### Our Values: At Skimmer, we:
- Realize our customers' success is our success.
- Build humble, diverse teams who have fun winning.
- Drive results with urgency.
- Earn trust through transparent communication.
Reporting into the Director, Product Marketing, we’re looking for a data-driven product marketer to build our go-to-market plans for new features within Skimmer. Your role includes informing the product roadmap around reasonable delivery timelines, managing feature and new product launches, developing our monetization strategy, and crafting our positioning and messaging. You will develop a deep understanding of the market we serve, and what our customers need to be successful in their own businesses. Because of this knowledge, you will serve as the “connective tissue” between the market, the product, and the Skimmer team.### What you'll do:
- Market analysis - You will develop a rich understanding of the Pool Service space, particularly the profile of pool professionals within micro to large businesses. Through ongoing primary research, including customer interviews, win/loss analysis, and survey programs, and continuous competitive monitoring across key players in the vertical, you will maintain a clear, current picture of market trends, dynamics, and the competitive landscape. You will synthesize these inputs into actionable insights and bring them to the rest of the business to inform both short and long-term strategy.
- Collaborate with Product – Alongside Product Management, you will shape the Skimmer roadmap to ensure our customers have a best-in-class experience and can manage their entire operation via the app. In doing so, you will help accelerate customer acquisition, adoption and expansion.
- GTM strategy – As both a market and product expert, you will be uniquely positioned to help the leadership team shape our GTM strategy, inclusive of pricing, packaging and commercialization.
- Positioning — Using all of the inputs at your disposal, you will architect the Skimmer positioning, working closely with brand and content marketing to create messaging that resonates with pool professionals and builds trust right from the start.
- Cross-functionality — Simply put, you will be the glue that binds product, sales and marketing together. Being the voice of the customer, you will ensure we get it right FOR THEM.
### Your Experience:- In-house Product Marketing experience, ideally with some vertical SaaS experience (service industry & payment solutions preferred)
- Proven experience in building and executing commercialization strategies, inclusive of ICP definition, GTM strategy, pricing and packaging and NPI process
- Superior ability to hunt out key insights from a variety of different sources and translate those insights into meaningful action
- You are a data-driven storyteller: written, verbal, and visual through a variety of mediums (social media, video, blog, text and more)
- You love to bring cross-functional teams together to create the best possible experience for the customer
- You are a strategic thinker and can influence others with kindness and collaboration
- You actively use AI tools (such as Claude or ChatGPT) in your day-to-day workflows, whether for research, writing, analysis, or ideation
- Track record of quickly learning and adopting new technologies as they emerge. You don't wait to be trained; you explore, experiment, and bring what works back to the team.
- Experience with tools such as Hubspot, Clay, Notion, Supademo (or similar), and expertise in Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini
### Benefits- Competitive base pay + bonus potential
- Generous medical, dental, and vision plans (we pay 100% of your premium and 50% of your dependents’)
- Fantastic culture with a very strong eNPS- we work hard, celebrate wins, and learn as we go to always be improving to benefit our customers.
- Immediate access to 401(k) with company match
- Flexible PTO (MINIMUM of 10 days required every year)
- 12 weeks paid parental leave for birthing parent, 6 weeks paid leave for supporting partner
- Comprehensive learning and development budget
- A manager dedicated to your development
