## Job Description
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of quality assurance and quality management at the EMTEK manufacturing facility. This role ensures products meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards while driving a proactive, prevention‑based quality culture across a high‑mix, low‑volume manufacturing environment. The Quality Manager partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and EHSS to improve product quality working towards defects and returns optimization, and support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with EMTEK and Fortune Brands business objectives.
Position Location:This role requires onsite presence Monday-Friday at our manufacturing facility in City of Industry, CA.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and develop the site Quality organization, setting clear expectations, priorities, and performance goals.
- Establish and maintain a strong quality culture focused on prevention, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Act as the primary site authority for quality-related decisions impacting product, process, and customer commitments.
- Support site leadership in achieving key quality KPIs, including PPM, scrap, rework, and warranty returns.
Quality Systems & Compliance- Own and maintain the site Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with Fortune Brands standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Drive effective use of corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes, root cause analysis, and sustain corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with FBIN Critical Quality Programs
Manufacturing & Process Quality- Partner with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure robust process controls across assembly, machining, finishing, and packaging operations.
- Implement and maintain inspection strategies, control plans, and risk‑based quality controls appropriate for a high‑mix environment.
- Support Manufacturing Execution System (MES) utilization for quality data collection, traceability, and defect analysis.
- Lead problem‑solving efforts for internal defects, customer complaints, and production escapes.
Supplier & Incoming Quality- Collaborate with Sourcing and Purchasing to manage supplier quality performance.
- Support supplier qualification, performance monitoring, and corrective action activities.
- Ensure effective incoming inspection and material quality processes aligned with risk and supplier performance.
Customer Quality & Returns- Own customer quality issues, including complaint response, warranty claims, and return analysis.
- Lead cross‑functional root cause and corrective action efforts to reduce customer‑reported defects and improve product reliability.
- Represent EMTEK quality performance in customer and corporate reviews as required.
Continuous Improvement- Actively support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost, and delivery.
- Use data‑driven analysis to identify trends, prioritize improvement opportunities, and measure results.
- Coach teams on structured problem‑solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, A3, DMAIC).
People Development- Recruit, develop, and retain a high‑performing Quality team.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to build technical capability and leadership depth.
- Ensure quality training is embedded across the organization for operators, leads, and supervisors.
## Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of progressive quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in high‑mix, low‑volume manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of quality systems, inspection methods, and structured problem‑solving.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence without authority.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in consumer products, hardware, mechanical assembly
- Familiarity with MES, ERP, and data‑driven quality systems.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement training or certification.
- Experience working within a multi‑site or matrix corporate manufacturing organization.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $140,000 USD - $170,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.
