Security Engineer, EDR at Cyderes

This role is designed for a mid-to-senior level cybersecurity professional with at least 4 years of experience who specifically enjoys the technical "under the hood" work of Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) platforms. You should have a strong background in cross-platform system administration (Windows, macOS, Linux) and the ability to act as a technical consultant for external clients. As a Security Engineer II on the Managed Endpoint Security (MES) team, you will move beyond basic monitoring to handle deep-dive configurations, health checks, and troubleshooting for major platforms like CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or Microsoft Defender. This is a hybrid position based in Kansas City, offering a balance of technical engineering and client-facing advisory work, including the development of SOPs and response workflows. **You might be a good fit if you:** * Have hands-on experience administering and tuning enterprise-grade EDR tools. * Are comfortable scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Bash to automate tasks. * Can translate complex technical threats into actionable business risks for customers. * Have exposure to peripheral security tech like deception tools (Thinkst Canary) or SIEM platforms (Splunk, Sentinel).
