Work type: remote
Location: Home based - Worldwide
Type: Full-time
This role is designed for mid-level software engineers who are deep security specialists. The ideal candidate has a strong academic background in Computer Science and is proficient in systems-level languages like C, C++, Go, or Rust. You should be equally comfortable performing code audits, threat modeling, and vulnerability remediation as you are contributing direct feature code to open-source projects.
As part of a pioneer in remote work, you will enjoy a fully distributed environment with a $2,000 annual professional development budget and a performance-driven bonus. A standout perk is the "sprint" culture: the company gathers teams in person 2–4 times a year in various international locations for strategy and alignment, providing a unique travel element to a remote role.
**You might be a good fit if you...**
* Have a "security champion" mindset and can influence product teams to adopt SSDLC practices.
* Are proficient in Linux internals (especially Debian/Ubuntu) and interested in low-level cryptography or kernel security.
* Thrive in an autonomous, highly disciplined environment and enjoy writing public-facing open-source code.
* Are willing to travel internationally for one week several times a year.
