This role is designed for a veteran data professional with a deep mastery of the Microsoft ecosystem and a background in federal contracting. The ideal candidate brings over 10 years of experience in data warehousing, specifically focusing on large-scale Azure cloud architectures and "Data as Code" methodologies. You should be comfortable leading cross-functional teams and navigating the high-security requirements of government enterprise environments.

Job Description
Analytica is seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Azure) to support one or more dynamic, long-term federal government enterprise data programs. The role will lead the architecture and engineering of Azure cloud big data solutions as part of enterprise data modernization. The successful candidate will join a high-impact team driving the evolution of cloud-native analytics, regulatory science, and mission-critical data systems.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Lead the development and enhancement of a shared enterprise data environment that meets a diverse set of Analytics, Reporting, and Data Science federal requirements
- Engage with clients and use a variety of information gathering techniques (e.g., interviews, facilitation, diagrams) to gather complex business data requirements from Business teams
- Architect Federal Data Lakes: Design and build secure, enterprise-scale storage and analytics solutions using Azure Synapse and ADLS Gen2 to support critical government missions.
- Deploy Modern AI & Fabric: Implement Azure Fabric and Azure Machine Learning to transform raw data into predictive, AI-driven insights across the agency.
- Engineer Real-Time Pipelines: Develop high-performance ETL/ELT workflows using Azure Data Factory and Event Hubs for seamless data orchestration and streaming.
- Automate with DevOps: Lead the transition to "Data as Code" by building YAML-based CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for rapid, secure, and auditable deployments.
- Lead Agile Delivery: Drive technical execution within an Agile framework, using Azure Boards to manage complex sprints and mentor engineering teams in a collaborative environment.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or related field.
- Microsoft Certification in one or more strongly preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert and/or Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
- 10+ years of experience developing enterprise data warehouse / lake solutions, with at least 5+ years specifically designing and implementing Azure-based Cloud Architectures.
- Leadership Track Record: Proven experience leading cross-functional technical teams and mentoring junior engineers within an Agile framework.
Demonstrated enterprise:- Modern Data Stack: Mastery of Azure Synapse Analytics, ADLS Gen2, and Azure Data Factory for complex ETL/ELT orchestration and data lakehouse design.
- Data Modeling & Strategy: Expert-level knowledge of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling (e.g., Star/Snowflake schemas) and modern paradigms like Data Mesh or Data Fabric.
Automation & DevOps: Deep proficiency in YAML-based CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
Microsoft Purview and similar data governance technologies
Security & Compliance: Demonstrated ability to architect solutions aligned with FedRAMP High, DoD IL4/IL5, and NIST 800-53 standards, incorporating Zero Trust principles.
