This role is designed for an experienced legal professional with a J.D. and 5–10 years of experience specifically at the intersection of IT/SaaS contracting and international privacy law. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of building compliance frameworks within high-growth private companies and feels comfortable acting as a subject matter expert for global regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.). As an in-house generalist, you will have significant influence over the company's "Go-To-Market" strategy by leading negotiations for Master Services Agreements. While the role is listed as hybrid in Kansas City, the company shows flexibility by considering candidates in Houston, Orlando, and Rogers, or even qualified remote applicants. About the Role:

This position will be an in-house generalist role responsible for building and maintaining frameworks and processes which ensure the company adheres to its compliance requirements as well as supporting the Go-To-Market function negotiating Master Services Agreements and related contracts. There will be an emphasis on Privacy and Security standards and additional engagement with other areas driven by business needs.

Preference for candidates in the following metros: Houston TX, Kansas City MO, Orlando FL, Rogers AR, although qualified Remote candidates will be considered.

## Responsibilities:

• As a privacy subject matter expert, maintain processes and remain up to date on legal and regulatory changes to facilitate compliance

• Present management recommendations on operationalizing initiatives

• Interface with internal stakeholders to gather inputs/requirements and engage in dialogue with external stakeholders including regulators, auditors, and clients, as required

• Review and negotiate client and vendor contracts to ensure alignment with company policies

• Assist in managing insurance portfolio

• Engage in cross-functional discussions to advise other departments including Technical, Marketing, and Sales

• Support incident response efforts by assessing privacy impact, coordinating investigations, and managing required breach notifications

• Develop and deliver privacy training programs and awareness initiatives to promote a culture of compliance across the organization

• Minimum Qualification: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree

• 5-10 years’ experience negotiating IT/SaaS contracts and handling privacy matters

• Demonstrated experience building or maintaining processes/frameworks fostering company compliance, preferably in a high growth private company setting

• Knowledge of privacy laws required, especially for EU, US, Canada, UK

• Must have prior experience engaging directly with clients and/or external stakeholders

• Experience in insurance matters would be considered an asset

• Experience managing personnel would be considered an asset

• Self-motivated and proactive in problem-solving and process improvement
