Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Product Ownership & Delivery
• Act as a data product owner by partnering with business stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and deliver new or enhanced data products, reports, and analytics aligned to business needs
• Lead end-to-end requirements gathering, including defining data fields, business definitions, transformations, and business logic, and translating requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineering and BI teams throughout the development lifecycle to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and expected outcomes
• Steward user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring delivered solutions meet business requirements and data quality expectations
• Define, document, and maintain team-wide standards, processes, and templates for data product management and requirements documentation
• Influence adoption of standards and best practices across Data Management, BI, and Engineering teams
• Review data product deliverables for alignment with agreed-upon standards and governance expectations
• Champion data quality, data lineage, and regulatory reporting considerations throughout the data product lifecycle
• Maintain and enhance data catalog and metadata content to improve data discoverability and confidence
• Coordinate cross-team data integration strategies across platforms and business domains
• Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for ongoing data product development in partnership with business and Data and BI leadership
• Demonstrate leadership by coaching team members, sharing best practices, and driving continuous improvement in how the team executes data initiatives
• Provide hands-on analytical support as needed, including SQL-based analysis and validation of data outputs
• Perform light project management activities by coordinating dependencies, tracking progress, and supporting on-time delivery of data initiatives
Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Science, Finance, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in data product management, data analytics, or a related data-focused role
• Direct experience acting as a data product owner or data product management practitioner
• Demonstrated success launching and/or managing data products with measurable business impact
• Proven experience defining, documenting, and standardizing business and data requirements and translating them into technical deliverables
• Strong ability to translate complex business needs into data product capabilities and roadmap features
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with cloud data platforms (e.g. Snowflake); familiarity with dbt is a plus
• Familiarity with data platforms and tools such as Snowflake, APIs, data catalogs (e.g., Alation, Collibra), and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx)
• Hands-on experience with product management tools (e.g., YouTrack, Jira)
• Working knowledge of data catalogs and metadata management tools (e.g., Alation, Collibra, or similar)
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, drive adoption of standards, and support change management efforts
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences
