Summary

This is a high-level executive role for an experienced data leader with at least 15 years in the field and a strong background in marketplaces or e-commerce. The ideal candidate isn't just a technical expert in DS, ML, and Engineering, but a strategic visionary who can overhaul organizational design, modernize infrastructure (Snowflake/dbt), and report directly to the Chief Product Officer. An MBA or consulting background is highly preferred to bridge the gap between complex data and commercial business outcomes. The compensation is premium, ranging from **$245,000 to $300,000** base, plus bonuses and unique perks like IKEA discounts and wellness stipends. While the company is hybrid, it offers significant stability as a subsidiary of the Ingka Group (IKEA). You’ll have the mandate to restructure the data organization and lead the transition toward a data-driven culture, including the launch of a new NYC office in 2026. **You might be a good fit if you:** * Have led large, multi-disciplinary teams across Data Engineering, ML, and Analytics. * Can navigate the complexities of a two-sided marketplace (pricing, matching, and supply/demand). * Are eager to build a modern data stack from the ground up, including semantic layers and MLOps. * Live in (or can commute to) San Francisco or New York City twice weekly.
