You’ll need 5+ years of experience bridging the gap between contact center systems (like Genesys or Cisco) and modern web technologies. Since this is a Professional Services role, you should enjoy client-facing work, rapid-fire project cycles (days to weeks), and writing Statements of Work.
The compensation range is exceptionally wide, reaching up to **$274k**, and includes a 100% employer-paid health insurance option for employees. The position offers high flexibility with a remote-first model (unless you live near San Ramon) and allows you to touch a diverse tech stack including Node.js, HTML5, and various CRM integrations like Salesforce and Zendesk.

Our Professional Services development team is growing, and we are seeking a Sr. Software Development Engineer to join us. This is a full-time remote position that can be worked from anywhere in the Continental U.S.
This role involves short-term development projects (ranging from a few days to several weeks) that require gathering customer integration requirements, analyzing feasibility using available APIs, designing, developing, and implementing solutions.
Projects vary widely in size and skill set and may include:
HTML5 web applications
- Web service integrations with third-party systems
The role demands a broad knowledge of current development technologies and the ability to quickly learn new systems, platforms, and APIs as needed. You will interact directly with customers via phone, web conferences, and in person (up to 15% travel required). Strong communication skills are essential, as you will often need to explain technical solutions to non-technical audiences. - Gather and document customer business requirements.
- Analyze integration feasibility and design solutions leveraging APIs.
- Develop and implement web applications, services, and system integrations.
- Communicate technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Document solution requirements and features in a Statement of Work for customer review and acceptance.
- Estimate project timelines, level of effort, and delivery schedules accurately.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks effectively.
Required Skills:- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to articulate issues, present solution options, and recommend the best course of action.
- Self-starter with strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with call center technology (Genesys, Avaya, Cisco, Aspect, etc.) and computer telephony concepts.
- Understanding of cloud-based technologies (AWS, SaaS, PaaS, etc.) and API interfaces (SOAP, REST, AJAX, WebSockets).
- Proficiency in Unix-based operating systems.
Qualifications:- 5+ years of experience in application or integration software development related to Computer-Telephony Integration (CTI) with systems such as Cisco ICM/UCCE, Genesys, or Avaya.
- 3+ years of experience developing web-based applications (HTML5, JavaScript) with frameworks and libraries such as jQuery, Backbone.js, Bootstrap, RequireJS, Ext JS, or Marionette.
- 1+ years of experience with web application hosting services such as Heroku, OpenShift, or self-hosted Node.js services.
- Experience integrating with CRMs, Marketing Automation, or Lead Management systems (Salesforce, MS Dynamics, NetSuite, Oracle Service Cloud, Zendesk, Velocify, etc.).
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience required.
Work Location: This role is fully remote for candidates who reside outside the 50 mile radius of our San Ramon office.
