This role is ideal for a Senior Software Engineer with a deep background in big data ecosystems and Java/Python development. You should be an expert in distributed computing and storage, comfortable managing massive datasets within a health-tech context. The team is looking for a self-starter who practices Test-Driven Development (TDD) and thrives in high-scale, distributed environments. The position offers a competitive salary range of $158k–$176k and the autonomy of a fully remote setup (distributed across the US). While remote, you’ll still benefit from high-touch culture moments through occasional travel for team summits. PointClickCare is a stable, privately held leader in healthcare SaaS, emphasizing R&D reinvestment and a modern "AI-first" workflow where tools like GitHub Copilot are encouraged. **You might be a good fit if you:** * Have hands-on experience with Apache Hudi, Trino, Spark, or Databricks. * Are proficient in writing clean, scalable code in Java and have experience building RESTful APIs. * Live and breathe TDD and have a solid grasp of distributed storage (S3, ADLS, or HDFS). * Are comfortable with infrastructure-adjacent tech like Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

Travel to Office expectations
For Remote Roles: If this role is remote, there will be in-office events that will require travel to and from the Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City office. These will include, but not limited to, onboarding, team events, semi-annual and annual team meetings.
For Hybrid Roles: If this role is Hybrid, there will be an expectation to reside within commutable distance to the office/location specified in the job listing. This will include, but not limited to, weekly/bi-weekly/monthly events in the office with your specific team. This is a requirement for this role.

At PointClickCare, base salary is one of the many components that make up our total rewards package. The US base salary range for this position is$158,000-
$176,000(not overtime eligible) + bonus + benefits. Compensation is assessed individually and aligned to experience, skills, and market context. The posted range reflects typical expectations for this role.
