Summary

This role is ideal for a seasoned Full Stack Engineer with at least 5 years of experience who thrives in a "remote-first" environment. You should be a technical leader who is equally comfortable architecting backend services in Node.js and Postgres as you are polishing frontend interfaces with React and TypeScript. Since this is an Engineering "I" position, they are looking for someone who has successfully shipped production software and is ready to mentor others while taking ownership of large-scale features. The compensation is highly competitive, offering up to $182k for a fully remote U.S. position. A standout aspect of this role is the focus on modern, complex web challenges—specifically real-time collaboration and event-driven architectures. Articulate is looking for a Senior Software Engineer I to join our amazing 360 web team!

As a Senior Software Engineer I at Articulate, you’ll work closely with a talented team of engineers and designers to build industry-leading products and solve interesting, complex problems. You’ll be responsible for large tasks and you’ll collaborate with teammates to develop the right solutions.

## What you'll do:

• Build new features and enhance existing ones with an eye for quality


• Focus on customers and iterate quickly to bring them value


• Collaborate closely with engineers, designers and product leaders


• Mentor software engineers and review work constructively


• Participate in defining application architecture


• Participate in on-call rotation and level up our incident response process

• Be responsible for making effective use of your time, focusing on quality results instead of effort

• A proven track record of implementing, shipping and maintaining production software


• 5+ years of experience working in a software engineering environment


• A history of collaborative, team-based work


• A history of being a technical leader


• Strong communication skills and an ability to clearly explain technical topics to engineers and non-engineers alike


• Ability to write clear, testable, and maintainable JavaScript


• Expertise with frontend technologies (React, JavaScript/TypeScript, S(CSS))


• Expertise with backend technologies (Node.js, Postgres, Docker)


• Proficiency developing and maintaining services on AWSStrong git/Github familiarity

• Event-driven architectures


• Experience w/ a variety of frontend frameworks and/or Native Web Components


• Real-time collaboration (CRDTs, WebSockets, etc.)TypeScriptML, LLMs, OpenAI, etc.


• Experience and passion for accessibility
