This role is designed for a heavyweight backend architect with 10+ years of experience who thrives in high-pressure, "intense" environments. You should be an expert in Go (or similar languages) and have a proven track record of building low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems. The team is looking for a leader who can navigate ambiguity, mentor others, and tackle complex fraud and financial threat challenges at a global scale. The compensation package is highly competitive, with a base salary reaching up to $298,700, plus performance bonuses and equity. While the role is remote within the USA, it offers a "best of both worlds" approach: you’ll enjoy day-to-day flexibility but will travel for high-impact, in-person team offsites several times a year. We’re looking to hire a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join one of our teams within the Platform Product Group. The Platform Product Group’s mission is to build a trusted, scalable, and compliant platform to maximize velocity, efficiency and quality. They build the foundations that can be used by multiple products and teams at Coinbase so that users can have a consistent and high-quality experience.
About the team:
The Risk engineering team has a critical charter to effectively manage the financial threats to both the business and the Coinbase users. By joining the team, you will continue to build the platform and critical services to mitigate fraudulent activities at scale, and improve the detection of good user patterns.
