Job Description

Saalex is seeking a Senior System and Server Administrator in Point Mugu, CA. Saalex is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $120k-$150k annually (depending on experience)

Work Location: Onsite. Point Mugu, CA.

The Senior System and Server Administrator provides advanced technical leadership for enterprise Linux and Windows environments. This role will support a team lead under the Product Team that is responsible for command patching, complex troubleshooting, cybersecurity initiatives, patch management, bash scripting and containerization.

Essential Functions:

• Advanced System Administration
• Lead administration of RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) enterprise environments
• Architect and maintain Microsoft Windows Server (2016 or later) infrastructure
• Oversee client system imaging, provisioning, and lifecycle strategies

• Cybersecurity, Compliance & Risk Mitigation
• Lead vulnerability remediation efforts and security posture improvements
• Interpret and implement cybersecurity compliance requirements
• Coordinate audits, scans, and remediation activities

• Automation & Engineering
• Design and maintain advanced automation solutions using:
• Bash (Linux)
• PowerShell (Windows)
• Improve operational efficiency through scripting and automation best practices

• Containerization & Storage Leadership
• Architect and maintain containerized platforms
• Lead NAS design, performance tuning, and capacity planning

• Networking & Data Transfer
• Troubleshoot complex, high volume data transmission issues
• Apply advanced knowledge of enterprise network services and dependencies

• Leadership & Mentorship
• Serve as technical authority for system administration decisions
• Mentor and guide Journeyman administrators
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and network teams

• Other duties as assigned.

Required:

• 10+ years of progressive system administration experience
• Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Deep expertise in Linux and Windows enterprise environments
• Proven experience leading cybersecurity and compliance efforts

Education:

• Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

Security Clearance:

• Active Top Secret required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
