This role is ideal for a senior-level systems engineer with a deep background in Linux internals and hardware enablement. You should have a strong academic record in STEM and professional experience working with non-x86 architectures (specifically ARM or RISC-V). The ideal candidate is comfortable at the intersection of software and firmware, possessing the "low-level" expertise required to bring Ubuntu to life on cutting-edge IoT, robotics, and automotive hardware. As a fully remote role based in the EMEA region, this position offers significant geographical flexibility within a globally distributed team. Standout perks include a $2,000 annual professional development budget, performance-based bonuses, and unique travel opportunities—including twice-yearly team "sprints" at international locations with travel upgrades for long-haul flights. **You might be a good fit if you...** * Have professional experience with bootloaders (u-boot), the Linux kernel, and platform bring-up. * Are proficient in C, Python, and Bash for system-level debugging and automation. * Enjoy collaborating directly with major silicon partners (like Intel, Nvidia, or ARM) and OEMs (like Dell or Lenovo). * Are willing to travel internationally 2-4 times a year for in-person strategic meetings.
