This role is ideal for a mid-level Software Engineer who transitioned into Ops or an SRE with a strong development background. You should be fluent in Python and have a solid foundation in Linux environments and networking. Since this team manages infrastructure from bare metal to Kubernetes, they are looking for someone with a "software engineering mindset" toward automation and a degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering. Canonical offers a world-class remote-first culture, allowing you to work from anywhere while meeting colleagues globally 2–4 times a year. Standout perks include a dedicated $2,000 annual learning budget, performance-based compensation reviews every six months, and travel upgrades (Priority Pass) for company events. You’ll get hands-on experience with a massive open-source portfolio including OpenStack, Kubeflow, and Kafka. **You might be a good fit if you...** * Are a Python expert who prefers writing code to solve infrastructure problems rather than manual configuration. * Have hands-on experience operating Kubernetes clusters and managing Linux systems at scale. * Enjoy "full stack" infrastructure, working on everything from physical networking to high-level cloud applications. * Are excited about international travel for intensive week-long team sprints twice a year.
