Work type: remote
Location: Austin; Boston; Chicago; New York City; Pittsburgh; United States; Washington DC
Salary: $127,000 – $249,000/yr
Type: Full-time
This is an ideal role for a high-level SRE or Infrastructure Engineer who specializes in internal tooling and data pipelines. You should have a deep background in managing high-scale distributed systems and a strong command of at least one modern programming language (like Go, Python, or Java). Since this team manages the "nervous system" of the engineering org, you need to be comfortable not just building infrastructure, but also setting standards for how other teams instrument their code.
The role offers significant geographic flexibility, allowing for a fully remote setup within the Eastern or Central time zones. The compensation range is broad and competitive, reaching up to $249k base, supplemented by a robust benefits package including equity and 20 weeks of parental leave. You will gain exposure to a modern "best-of-breed" observability stack featuring VictoriaMetrics, Splunk, and Kubernetes across multiple cloud providers.
**You might be a good fit if you:**
* Have experience scaling observability tools (metrics, logs, traces) for thousands of microservices.
* Enjoy "platform thinking"—building tools that make it easier for other developers to do their jobs.
* Are comfortable with a week-long on-call rotation and fostering a blameless post-mortem culture.
* Have a solid grasp of networking fundamentals like TLS, DNS, and HTTP in a cloud-native environment.
