This role is designed for a seasoned engineering leader with a deep background in Linux systems and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). You should be comfortable managing distributed teams in a high-stakes, "gitops-first" environment. The ideal candidate has a strong academic background and a proven track record of delivering SaaS at scale while mentoring engineers through complex, distributed system challenges.
As a fully remote position within APAC or EMEA, this role offers incredible geographic flexibility backed by a "pioneer of global distributed collaboration." Beyond a base salary and performance bonus, you’ll receive a $2,000 annual professional development budget and the opportunity to travel globally twice a year for in-person team sprints. This is a chance to influence the infrastructure that supports over 60 million Ubuntu users worldwide.
