This role is ideal for a mid-level engineer who lives and breathes the "automation-first" philosophy and has a deep-seated passion for the Linux ecosystem. You should have a strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Python development, with the ability to manage complex distributed systems across both private and public clouds. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and comfort working in a global, asynchronous environment are essential. The position offers a unique chance to work on infrastructure that supports over 60 million Ubuntu users worldwide. As a fully remote role available in any timezone, it provides ultimate geographical flexibility. A standout perk is the "uninterrupted development time" specifically carved out for large-scale automation projects, along with international travel two to four times a year for team alignment events in global locations. **You might be a good fit if you...** * Have professional experience with Python and managing large-scale Linux server environments. * Are an expert in CI/CD pipelines, version control, and peer-review workflows. * Enjoy "troubleshooting from kernel to web" and contributing back to open-source projects. * Are comfortable with Linux networking, storage (Ceph/Databases), and observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
