Type: Full-time
This role is for a versatile Linux expert who enjoys deep-diving into complex technical issues across the entire open-source stack. The ideal candidate has a strong academic background in STEM and is comfortable coding in Python, Go, or C/C++. You should be someone who isn't intimidated by the kernel, virtualization, or distributed systems and thrives on contributing fixes back to upstream communities.
As a fully remote, global position, this role offers exceptional geographical flexibility. Standout perks include a $2,000 annual professional development budget, performance-based bonuses, and the opportunity to travel globally for in-person team "sprints." It’s an engineering-heavy environment where technical excellence is the primary metric for success.
**You might be a good fit if you...**
* Love troubleshooting and can move from high-level application issues down to bare metal or the Linux kernel.
* Enjoy participating in upstream open-source communities and developing bug fixes for projects like OpenStack or Kubernetes.
* Prefer a distributed work culture but look forward to meeting colleagues in person 2–4 times a year.
* Are comfortable a wide-ranging tech stack including Ceph, LXD, and networking protocols (OVS/OVN).
